Dorothy Minty, concert violinist who premiered the Charles Ives First Violin Sonata;
her grandfather Robert H.G. Minty
was an heroic Union General in the US
Civil War. She was a close friend of Ansel Adams and Cedric Wright (who was
also at one time her teacher), and played at Ansel's wedding. She taught at
Julliard, Mannes, and Manhattan schools of music.
